I live and work in rural Somerset. Far from the madding crowd, on the edge of the beautiful Blackmore Vale. I grew up in the west country and after spending a large part of my life in and around London I was drawn back to it.
Variety is the spice of life and I have explored various career paths. Including sales, admin, nursing and running two successful small businesses. Art has always been a big part of my life and I am most happy when I am in my studio in the middle of an exciting project.
I am currently converting a 200 year old farmhouse and farm buildings into a home and business. 'Horwood Artspace', my vision is a gallery and workshop with residential space for artists retreats. This is a challenging project in the current economic climate. In rural economies there are far fewer opportunities for artist to find paid work. I hope to create more opportunities for myself and others.
For fifteen years my studio was a converted garage at my home in Glastonbury, now my studio is an old cowshed in the glorious countryside of South Somerset. An idyllic spot with plenty of space for exhibiting.
I am a founding member of the group Arete Visual Arts which was formed in 2007, created with the intention of exploring creativity and potential together as a group. Initiating projects and engaging critically.
